Are you getting married at Blackwell Grange?
Blackwell Grange sits in the North Cotswolds, just outside Shipston-on-Stour near the Warwickshire/Gloucestershire border — and it’s one of those venues that just quietly nails it.
As a Cotswolds and Warwickshire wedding photographer, I’ve photographed weddings all over the region, but Blackwell Grange always feels easy in the best possible way. Restored barns, open courtyard, rolling countryside… it’s rural without being remote and stylish without trying too hard. Weddings here always give off the fun vibe. .
Why is Blackwell Grange Is So Good for Wedding Photography?
Everything flows.
Ceremony, courtyard drinks, dinner, dancing — all on site. No awkward coach trips. No disappearing acts. Just one steady build of atmosphere throughout the day.
The team at Blackwell keep things ticking along behind the scenes, which means you don’t have to think about logistics. And when you’re not worrying about timings, you’re present. That’s when the best photographs happen.
From a documentary point of view, Blackwell Grange gives you:
- Beautiful natural light in the barns
- A sociable central courtyard (great for chaos-in-a-good-way confetti)
- Rustic textures mixed with modern finishes
- Open countryside stretching across the Cotswolds–Warwickshire landscape
It looks great, yes — but more importantly, it feels relaxed.
Are You Looking For A Wedding Photographer For Your Wedding At Blackwell Grange?
Photography matters. Obviously.
But your wedding day is bigger than that. It’s about bringing families together, seeing friends you haven’t seen in years, and actually having time to enjoy it all.
A lot of couples getting married at Blackwell Grange have guests travelling from across the Cotswolds, Warwickshire and beyond (the M40 helps). You shouldn’t miss your drinks reception because you’re stuck doing 47 variations of the same pose.
My approach is simple: blend in, capture what’s happening, don’t take over.
No awkward staging. No marathon portrait sessions. Just honest moments as they unfold.
Your wedding isn’t a photoshoot. It’s a celebration. And the natural stuff always wins.
What About Group Photos?
We’ll absolutely do them.
I just keep them tight and efficient — around 8–10 combinations is usually perfect. Enough to cover the important people without turning the courtyard into a queue. I aim to do group photos in a fun light hearted way and they shouldn’t take more than 20 min. The rest of the day can be spent actually enjoying it.
Blackwell Grange gives us loads of flexibility too — courtyards, countryside, gardens — so we can keep it quick and keep the day moving.
A Collection of Real Blackwell Grange Weddings
This blog isn’t about one single wedding, but a collection of moments from Blackwell Grange weddings across different seasons. Each celebration feels slightly different, shaped by the people involved — but the relaxed, storytelling way I photograph stays the same. I’m there to photograph your special day. I want you to enjoy it after all and will cringe if you or your family and friends thought I took over too much.
